December 2006

  • The big day is drawing nearer and nearer. Mummy has started the countdown. The nearer the day, the slower time passes.

  • 04/12/06, mummy's tummy grew to the maximum. To date, mummy had gained 20kg and you were 2708 gram. You bacame more active than the previous month. Mummy could always see your body pushed against my tummy on the left side. Must be getting very tight for you inside. Dr Tan said that was your buttock.
  • 11/12/06, last appointment with Dr Tan. Your hearbeat and contraction was tested, the test took us about 30 minutes. We didn't do 3D ultrasound for you because you still didn't want to show your face.
  • 15/12/06, mummy and daddy planned to have a great dinner and movie as i was going to have the ceasarian the next day morning. It was around noon, while waiting for daddy to come back from the office, mummy was working on this blog when, suddenly, mummy felt like sitting on a bag of warm water....the water bag had burst!!! (Baby...you choose to born one day earlier than what we planned for you). Your birthday fell on this day.

November 2006

  • Mummy gained weight dramatically this month, about 16 - 18 kg. You only weighed 1.7kg so about 15kg of totally new weight was totally mine.
  • 03/11/06, couldn't do 3D ultrasound for you because your face was turned to the other side. Instead we measured your foot and you've got a pair of big foot, about 6.01cm.
  • 11/11/06, for a smooth and swify delivery, we opted for caesarean surgery. Dr Tan told us we could seek auspicious "Feng Shui" date for you between 12/12/06 - 21/12/06.
  • Referred from Uncle Buck Kim (daddy's buddy friend), we looked for Mr Yiu Rong Zie(a famous geomancy) to choose a date for you. Your birthday will be on 16.12.2006.

September And October 2006

  • Can feel more of your movements beginning this month. But when daddy tried to talk to you, you didn't respond.
  • We received a lot of old baby clothes from Auntie Florence (Daddy's boss). According to old wives tales, old baby clothes are good for new born babies. New born babies will feel more comfortable. Po Po (Daddy's mother) also brought you some of daddy's baby clothes and a blanket made by your Po Po's grandmother. Your Po Po kept all these thing for almost 40 years and is now passing it to you. Although they were too old and not suitable for use anymore, mummy accepted them. Mummy feels these memorabilias are meaningful. They represent a kind of love passed from generation to generation. And you will pass to your children in the future.
  • 05/09/06 was the month to check for your "spare parts" (baby's organ). Everything was so perfect, your weight went up 1243 grams and mummy gained about 14 kg.
  • Daddy and mummy start to do shopping for you : wardrobe, drawers, playpen, etc...we also did some decoration to your room. (daddy sacrified his study room for you..)
  • Mummy tookup a proffesional make-up course this month. Hmmmm.......just wondering whether are you learning at the same time???
  • 18/10/06, grandmother and auntie Adel came back from Shanghai trip. They bought you a set of 100% pure silk quilt. It is so soft and comfortable.
  • Auntie Amy gave you some baby clothes from her shop. They are so adorable.

August 2006

  • 11/08/06, you grew to 380 grams. Dr Tan said it was about the weight of a can of coca-cola, but mummy already gained a couple of kgs.

  • Mummy was supposed to feel your kick in this month, but the placenta was between you and mummy's tummy, so mummy couldn't enjoy as often the feeling of you kicking inside.

  • 13/08/06, mummy's morning sickness became better and better. Mummy and daddy went to Sydney for a getaway when you were in your 2nd trimester. We did a little advance shopping for you. We were always on the lookout for baby stuff and we ended up buying clothes for you at Target. Later, we found that some of them are bit too thick to wear in Singapore. Well, it will come in handy someday, somehow.

  • 25/08/06, auntie Catherine and uncle Ronald (mummy's friends) shared some of their parenting experience with mummy and brought mummy to do some shopping for you.

July 2006

  • Mummy stopped working and stayed at home. The terrible morning sickness and the anxiety of another threaten miscarriadge were too much to bear because mummy didn't want to lose you. Mummy also had to thank for daddy's understanding.
  • 13/07/06, it was 90% confirmed that you are a girl. We were guesting who will you look like. We were hoping that you will look more like mummy than daddy.

June 2006

  • You were 3 months old. Mummy started to have morning sickness. Mummy vomitted almost after every meal...
  • 15/06/06, Dr Tan did a scan and the probability of you being a girl is 60%. He showed us 3 lines near your buttock symbolising a female. Dr Tan describe it as a hamburger. Daddy was so happy to know that you are a girl, that was what he wished for.

May 2006

  • 03/05/06, auntie Amy (daddy's good friend) referred us to Raffles Hospital. Dr Tan Yew Ghee was auntie Amy's previous gynae. He is senior doctor and very experienced. Auntie Amy and daddy said that he look a bit like an old actor-comedian, Xu Guan Wen. He is also very humourous. That day, we found out you were already two month old. You were protected by a 2.5cm sac and you were only 0.15cm long.
  • 25/05/06, only 22 days later, you grown to 2.28cm and the sac also expanded to 5.39cm. On that day, we decided to choose Raffles Hospital as the place you will first see this world.
  • 30/05/06, mummy was frightened by a bit of bleeding at night. Dr Tan said that it was a sympton of threaten miscarriadge. But long as mummy has sufficient rest, it would be alright. We were pleased to know that you were very healthy. We got your expected due date on that day. You will be a Christmas baby.
